Vaporizers

Gone are the days when a vaporizer was only a medical device, used to help a sick child breathe easier or silence a cough. Non-medical vaporizors are now used as steamers, oil diffusers, aromatherapy, herbal and tobacco smoking devices.
No matter the name, all vaporizers heat herbs to an exact temperature, that is below combustion temperature. When the herbs are heated to this temperature, the active ingredients vaporize into a mist. Vaporizing offers a more concentrated level of the herb's active ingredients, without the harmful chemicals, which burning the herbs causes. You can also, re-vaporize the herbs to extract any remaining active ingredients. Where vaporizers can differ is in the heating method and the delivery method; direct versus indirect heating and direct lung delivery versus stored vapor delivery. Glass and ceramic are the most common types of heating elements.

If you can do without the fans and fan and temperature controls, a cheap vaporizer will do the job. You need to become excperienced at how much and how long to heat the vaporizer. The simplest, cheap vaporizer is a glass tube. You hold a flame under the end of the glass tube, so that hot air enters the tip and passes through the herbs. There are pipes that have a ceramic filter between the herbs and the flame, that are inexpensive vaporizers.

There are portable vaporizer units available. A portable vaporizer is small in size. It can be operated with a 110v-240v adaptor or by battery. Most lithium-ion batteries will provide twenty-five minutes of vapor time. Some portable vaporizer units can be operated by a car adaptor.

The silver surfer vaporizer has a long-lasting ceramic heating element. It features a one to three minute start-up time and easy screen changes. The silver surfer vaporizer features adjustable temperature from 200 degrees to 900 degrees.

Digital vaporizer units provide more accurate temperature adjustment than knob control. The numbers are easily displayed for readability.

The volvano vaporizer unit can be used for aromatherapy, smokeless ingestion of herbs, cannibis and tobacco. The airflow and temperature can be adjusted. The volcano vaporizer features a vent-balloon delivery system. This system allows enough vapor to provide several hits from one balloon. It allows vapor storage up to eight hours, also.

The extreme vaporizer unit can be used as a steamer, an oils diffuser and an ambient aromatherapy unit. The extreme vaporizer features auto-shut off. An extremely convenient feature is the remote control. It can be used to set the fan speed, adjust the temperature settings and turn the extreme vaporizer on and off.

In choosing a vaporizer, decide what features you need, how many people will be using it and how much you want to spend.
